Membership in the Friends is a concrete way of helping everyone in your community, and every time you visit the library or notice an activity or program offered there, you can feel proud to be a contributor! And with your membership you are invited to the Member’s Night at the FOL Book Sale where members can preview and buy books the evening before the general sale begins. Membership dues are as follows:
- $10 Individual
- $20 Family
- $50+ Free Book Bag
- $100 Patron
- $250 Lifetime
- $500 Business
You can pick up membership forms at the library, by emailing a request with address to FriendsKCPL@gmail.com or completing our form below. Be sure to join up before the book sale so you can take advantage of membership night!

Please let us know if you leave the area or change your address. We update our membership list every January.
The yearly membership period begins in January and ends in December. Applications received after November 1 will be applied to the following year.

There are many ways to participate in the library community in Kent County. Volunteers are always needed for the book sales, including setting up, working the cash box, restocking the tables, and breaking down and clean-up. We also need volunteers to set
up and maintain the occasional hallway sales of puzzles and audio/visual media, and of course every Tuesday a team of volunteers accepts many boxes and bags of book, puzzle, and AV donations. If you would like to inquire about volunteer participation,

Are you interested in serving on the Friends of the Library Board? Board members help make vital decisions on funding and fundraising. They may assume various responsibilities such as updating the web page, managing the Facebook page, maintaining the membership list, managing the FOL funds, placing ads, researching issues and projects, and acting as FOL liaison. We are a busy group! If you are interested in board membership, applications are available at the library branches or you can contact us at friendsofthekcpl@gmail.com.
